Cornwallis Stormwater

Client: Hawkesbury City Council
Status: Design Complete

enstruct were employed by the Hawkesbury City Council for civil engineering design services for the detailed design for Stage 2 of the twin pipe replacement and associated works at Cornwallis Road, Cornwallis.

Due to the worst flooding the area has experienced in 60 years a portion of the twin steel pipelines from Hawkesbury River to Cornwallis Road gave way to floodwaters creating a deep hole between the road and the river which resulted in the closure of Cornwallis Road. This project identified solutions to rebuild the twin pipelines and to reinstate road access permanently.

Works included running a multidisciplinary team with works including topographical surveys, underground service detection, geotechnical investigation, environmental investigation, documentation for the replacement of twin stormwater pipes and associated civil works, road and pavements, erosion and sediment control plan and cost estimates.
