505 George Street Tower
An invited design competition for the proposed residential tower and mixed use development at 505 George Street, Sydney has been awarded to Ingenhoven / Architectus. The scheme delivers an 80 storey building containing residential, hospitality, entertainment, community centres and retail facilities as well as below grade car parking. enstruct assisted the client with the Stage 1 DA approval, including assessment of rail easement constraints, enstruct also acted as the project technical advisor during the design competition, as well as assisting both the winning design (Ingenhoven / Architectus) and the Bates Smart Design. enstruct were appointed to develop the concept design for the building post competition completion. The key consideration being this tall building's lateral capacity. A highly efficient lateral system coupling the core with the closely spaced perimeter columns via belt trusses and outriggers was developed. The project has recently won the 2019 MIPIM / The Architectural Review Future Project Award.
