Terminal 1 Check-in
enstruct assisted SACL with the design of new check-in facilities at the International Terminal. The concept required a check-in capacity increase and flexibility for passengers. Self check-in kiosks were to be installed at the existing Departures Check-in Hall to replace the current facilities, and a new system of automatic bag drops and baggage handling system conveyors were required to connect the new facilities to the existing conveyors located below the Departures Hall slab.
Assisting with the concept design, enstruct developed the structure below the Departures Hall to support the new baggage conveyors and access platforms. Despite the challenging site conditions, the structural design of the support structure and platforms had minimum impact to the airport operations. It provided an economical way to install the structure, and allowed for reticulation of existing and new services.
