enstruct was commissioned by Sydney Airport Corporation Limited as structural engineers to assist with the reference design of SYD1 and SYD2, two new precincts at the International and Domestic Terminals of Sydney Airport.
SYD1 will consist of an additional international terminal, additional aircraft parking stands via a new pier, arrivals and departures concourses and premium lounges, improvements to the check-in hall, arrivals hall and forecourt and will include a new elevated road entry to the precinct, multi-storey carparks and a new multi-storey passenger pick-up and drop-off facility. The connectivity between the train station and the new terminal redevelopments is also part of the scope
The SYD2 development will incorporate a redevelopment of the existing Jet Base precinct with the addition of a new terminal and piers, expanding the parking, pick-up and drop-off facilities and improvements to the road access network, and improving the connectivity of the existing rail station into the new terminal. A major aspect of the new terminal design is the co-locating of domestic and international operations and passenger facilities into one terminal for the two Australian main-line carriers.
