The extension of the University of Western Sydney medical school, teaching and research facility, was aimed at developing a new Clinical School to support students who currently must divide their time between the campus and the hospital which will ease the pressure on both these facilities and therefore allow for more teachers and students.
Completed at the end of 2016, it includes a 165 seat lecture theatre, labs, clinical and class rooms, a library and offices. The building was designed to achieve a 5 Star Greenstar As-Built rating. The building structure was comprised of a reinforced concrete framed building supported off pile foundations. The lateral capacity is provided by the reinforced concrete shear walls which form the stair and lift shafts.
enstruct was engaged for both structural and civil engineering services.
