Client: Cranbrook Care
Architect: Architectus
Status: Complete

The aged care facility at 65-71 St Albans Street, Abbotsford comprises of 81 separate residential aged care units spread over 3 levels with shared dining areas and a basement level car park. All suspended concrete slabs were designed as post-tensioned slabs with transfer slabs on Ground Floor, Level 1 & Level 2 to allow for different architectural layouts on each level. The post-tensioned concrete slabs are supported by a combination of blockwork walls, concrete walls and concrete columns to allow for open spaces in lounge & dining areas within the building. Due to the site's close proximity to Hen and Chicken Bay, a continuous secant pile cutoff wall was constructed around the perimeter of the site to prevent water ingress to the building.
