In the spirit of reconciliation, enstruct acknowledges the Traditional Custodians across all of the lands on which we work and their connections to the land, sea and community. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all First Nations peoples today.
The Light in Winter Festival at Melbourne's Federation Square brings together artists, designers, and architects from both local and international origins. During the month-long festival, Federation Square played host to an array of light sculptures that were inspired by a design brief that called for the creation of shed-like structures. The Fortynine design studio responded to the design brief with the Light Shed - a cocoon like, illuminated structure that echoes organic forms to create both a shelter and viewing platform for passers-by. The Light Shed was constructed from structural plywood timber sheeting that was pre-cut and delivered to site for assembly. Enstruct contributed expertise in structural analysis and design to ensure the Light Shed was capable of resisting environmental loads, whilst staying true to the designer's vision for the sculpture.
