Qantas Line Hangar
enstruct were commissioned to develop the design to tender documentation. This remarkable building capable of housing 6 A380s. An innovative cantilevered roof scheme delivered a 300m clear span at the hangar door. This arrangement provided great flexibility for parking positions within the hangar for various aircraft codes. The structural form was developed to limit the steel demand, for a roof which houses significant access equipment (tele platforms and gantry cranes). The elegant roof form also minimized wind disturbance at the adjacent runways. Our commission included civil designs for all the adjacent aprons and accessways.
