GPT’s Wollongong Central
GPT has embarked on a $200 million expansion of Wollongong Central and will deliver a new city experience for the people of Wollongong. Wollongong Central has welcomed 80 new retailers across 18,000 square metres, bringing the total number of stores to over 220, with 650 new car spaces taking the total to over 2,000 upon completion. The expansion addressed an undersupply of quality retailing within the city centre, while responding to the demand for a variety of new experiences for shoppers. The project consisted of one level of basement parking sitting below three retail levels with additional two levels of car parking located on the rooftop. enstruct was engaged to prepare GMP documentation through to construction documentation and supervision. A key component of enstruct's work was developing structural systems to maximise flexibility of the retail tenancies.
