Abercrombie, USYD
The Abercrombie Precinct Redevelopment will house a world class business school at the University of Sydney. The facility will contain teaching space, auditoria, administration, below grade car parking and extensive public space, in a campus set apart from the main university. The aim is that this new institution will provide a meeting place for industry and academia. It will also contain spaces which will house contemporary teaching methodologies.In order to submit a development application for this project (Part 3A) a schematic design was developed to prove the building layout, cost plan and architecture. Structural systems were developed to provide flexible clear span space, minimizing the impact of irregular forms such as the below grade auditoria.
