Cranbrook Preparatory
As part of a new Junior School Cranbrook built a range of new facilities at its Rosebay campus. A new gymnasium, library, art rooms and general class rooms were constructed. enstruct was commissioned on the project as a peer reviewer and assisted the base building engineer in dealing with some poor and variable ground conditions. The poor soil conditions were uncovered as the contractor was preparing the site levels so the design was required to be changed from simple pad footings to a post tensioned raft and as the contractor was already on site the design was required urgently. Utilising our advanced skills in the design of post tensioning and soil structure interaction we were able to work alongside the base building engineer to ensure a rational and robust solution was developed quickly to minimise any delay to the construction program.
