Harbour Bridge Sculpture

Client: RTA
Architect: International Conservation
Status: Complete

The maintenance cranes which track across the top chords of the Sydney Harbour Bridge are an important part of the bridge's history. The current cranes are identical replicas of those installed in 1932. Two of the original cranes were restored and conserved, with one of them mounted on public display adjacent to the northern pylon. An elegant and robust support structure was developed allowing good visual access to all portions of the crane.
