Single LEAP 2
A Public Private Partnership consortium lead by Babcock and Brown, John Holland, Hansen Yuncken and St Hilliers prepared a tender to provide and manage 3500 single accommodation units for defence personnel throughout Australia. The bid brief required substantially developed designs to be prepared. The consulting team was challenged to design building systems which could be readily delivered in a variety of environments and locations. Sustainable design solutions were developed harnessing cross ventilation, effective shading and the choice of appropriate materials. All aspects of the designs were fine-tuned with a focus on prefabrication and efficiency of the construction process, at both developed and remote sites.
