Coles Myer Distribution
This 80,000 square metre distribution building has a conventional steel portal frame structure. The post tensioned ground slab is built over both cut and prepared fill, with bored pier and pad foundations supporting the building columns. The commission commenced at feasibility stage proving project costs prior to an agreement for lease and extended through to practical completion. A demanding delivery programme required early placement of orders for the primary steel structure. Structural analysis and design were fast tracked to allow in excess of 800 tonnes of steel to be ordered within two weeks of design commencement. A close working relationship with the steel fabricator has evolved matching documentation and detailing with the fabrication programme.
