In the spirit of reconciliation, enstruct acknowledges the Traditional Custodians across all of the lands on which we work and their connections to the land, sea and community. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all First Nations peoples today.
A landmark commercial office tower constructed in the Auckland CBD at 80 Queen Street. The building overlooks the harbour with a centrally placed core and long span floor plates providing an efficient and functional typical floor. Enstruct assisted the project architects and preferred contractor through to the completion of design development, at which stage design responsibility transferred to a New Zealand based consulting team. The site has little shielding from northerly winds sweeping in across the harbour. The lateral system for the building relies on a slender central reinforced concrete core. Monash University Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel Group were commissioned to advise on the wind effects of the site. As with most tall buildings, limiting motion perception at the building tip was the critical design consideration.
