Warragamba Dam is a key piece of Australian infrastructure, construction commenced in 1948 and was completed in 1960. With a surface area of some 75 square kilometers and a maximum depth of 105 metres, the dam underpins the water supply for Sydney. As with any major piece of infrastructure a maintenance and upgrade strategy is in place for the dam. These works were carried out under the direction of John Holland Water. The work related to key dam structural components, requiring the rigorous development and proving of both designs and installation methodologies.
