In the spirit of reconciliation, enstruct acknowledges the Traditional Custodians across all of the lands on which we work and their connections to the land, sea and community. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all First Nations peoples today.
The sale of Sydney's Bankstown Airports to the private sector was underpinned by the development potential of its vacant lands and the airport's favourable location to major transportation routes. The Bunnings warehouse is the initial major development at the airport, and with a building area in excess of 10,000 square metres is one of Bunnings' largest facilities. The planning has allowed for extension to the current building to match predicted sales forecasts. The warehouse is a conventional steel framed portal structure with a 10 metre eave height and 35 metre clear spans. The structural design focussed on the efficiency of the steel frame and developing connection details to simplify both fabrication and erection.
