In the spirit of reconciliation, enstruct acknowledges the Traditional Custodians across all of the lands on which we work and their connections to the land, sea and community. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all First Nations peoples today.
Sydney Olympic Park Authority commissioned Caro Architecture and enstruct to create a feature in the plaza adjacent to Olympic Stadium to commemorate the 2000 Olympics. A forest of varying height steel tubular poles told of the crowds which flocked to the events, and a circular pavilion housing numerous vision monitors with acoustic back up - replayed the great events and recreated the atmosphere of those wonderful days. The pavilion is a very carefully crafted building, the spherical concrete roof consists of six precast elements stitched together and supported on tubular steel poles. Great attention was paid to the fabrication of the steel forms for the precast elements - achieving a complex form with an excellent finish. The elegance and honesty of the structural system and its detailing are key to the building's architecture.
