Government

Government is responsible for 60 percent of all building construction.

Government projects are typically subject to greater controls and involve a larger number of stakeholders than in the Private Sector. Commissions are awarded to consultants who have achieved prequalification to select panels and who are subject to ongoing assessment. 

These controls are in the form of regular formal reporting and review of the project throughout design development, documentation and construction. It is critical to understand the format and aspirations of this process so as to be able to effectively interface with the client, consultants and contractors.

Government projects encompass a broad range of facilities including health, defence, education and transport. Engineering buildings for each of these sectors requires an understanding of their individual  planning and operational requirements.
