John Hewitt
John has 30 years experience in structural engineering and 15 years in fire safety design. He has worked in engineering offices in London, Los Angeles and Sydney and was leader of the Arup Fire Sydney group for 4 years. He also teaches structural design and structural fire engineering at the University of Sydney. He has wide experience in the design and construction of a variety of building types and has worked on projects in Australia, the UK, Europe, Asia and USA.
He is passionate about using appropriate and innovative design to solve problems and achieve architectural intent. He has particular experience in fire safety design of structures, seismic design, long span structures, steelwork and stability.
