Terminal 1, Pier B

Client: SACL
Architect: Cox Architecture

Work is well underway on the "Bifurcation Roof" at Sydney's international terminal building which spans the junction of three building piers. The roof is a long span (70 metres) grid shell which efficiently and elegant spans this central space. Enstruct was invited to propose alternate roof structures with previous cable supported schemes delivering inefficient and inelegant arrangements. The grid shell, similar to the roof structure spanning the atrium at 1 Bligh Street was proposed by enstruct and delivered a very elegant solution. The roof is being constructed in a manner which allows the ongoing operation of this busy terminal building.
