Kempsey Hospital Phase 2

08.08.2014
Client: Health Infrastructure
Architect: S2F

Following the completion of the infrastructure early works package, the $80M Kempsey District hospital redevelopment has progressed into its second phase. The main works package will principally involve the construction of the New Clinical Services Building situated within the existing campus. This 10,000sqm, five storey building will boast a new emergency department, clinical support services, a coronary care unit, acute inpatient beds, operating theatres and a day surgery unit.

enstruct's concrete frame design is on a regular 8.4m grid pattern to minimise structural constraints on the internal space planning. The structure is also designed to tie in with the tricky site topography with ground levels varying by 4.5m from one end of the building to the other. Construction is being undertaken by Watpac and is scheduled for completion in late 2015.
