On Thursday the 7th November, at the Australian Institute of Architects' 2013 National Architecture Awards held at the Sydney Opera House the Pitt Street Mall Public Domain Upgrade won a commendation. With awards and commendations presented across 12 national categories with 166 eligible award winners that had progressed through to the final stages from awards held earlier in the year. Pitt Street's commendation is a great honour. The jury citation states the project is "a well-executed, restrained public domain that provides an appropriate setting for activity in one of Sydney's busiest public spaces." enstruct worked closely with Tony Caro Architects, to deliver a ribbon of some twenty illuminated tubes suspended fifteen metres above the mall on the finest of cable nets.
