In the spirit of reconciliation, enstruct acknowledges the Traditional Custodians across all of the lands on which we work and their connections to the land, sea and community. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all First Nations peoples today.
We are proud to announce that the lighting cable and Pitt Street Mall Public Domain Upgrade has won the 2013 NSW Architecture Award for Urban Design presented by the Australian Institute of Architects on 27 June at Sydney's historic Jones Bay Wharf. The award recognises achievement in design which enhances the quality of the built environment or public domain.
enstruct worked closely with Tony Caro Architects, to deliver a ribbon of some twenty illuminated tubes suspended fifteen metres above the mall on the finest of cable nets.
The jury citation stated that the lighting cable was "intelligent lighting" with "fine catenaries of lights" and awarded and acknowledged the project team.
